Izzy joined the Avocados Australia Board in 2023. He has been farming since childhood and has been growing avocados in Australia for more than 12 years. He started his avocado growing journey in Australia at his orchard in Green Pigeon and then also at Georgica in New South Wales. Prior to commercially growing avocados he worked in roles related to government security and has studied archaeology and history. He transitioned into agriculture farming on the border between Israel and Jordan. He later immigrated from Israel to Australia. He is interested in seeing farming practices advance. “I am passionate about farming and seeing advances in farming practices, moving from traditional methods to modern, efficient approaches. This shift has the potential to address various challenges faced in avocado orchards, including labour issues and effective management,” said Izzy. Izzy has studied and taught others in the field of agronomy.
